Now imagine the chopper is only 10 metres above the ground. You might think, easy, I jump and land. But 10 metres is still roughly the height of a three-storey building. From that height, you have only about 1.4 seconds before hitting the ground. What can you do in those seconds even if you're a superhero? And when you jump from a moving helicopter, you don't suddenly become stationary. Your body already has the helicopter's horizontal velocity. If the helicopter is moving at, say, 200km/h, you leave it carrying roughly that horizontal speed. You're essentially being thrown out of a movin

I have seen someone asking, “Chopper ikienda ku-crash a few metres from the ground, huwezi ruka?” The answer is simple, it depends on the circumstances, but just jump out is not the simple survival trick people imagine. To put in a clear perspective, KICC is about 105 metres tall. Now imagine standing on top of KICC and jumping. Even without the helicopter's forward movement, gravity accelerates you downward at about 9.8 m/s². After just 2 seconds, you would be falling at roughly 71 km/h; after 3 seconds, about 106 km/h, ignoring air resistance. 🤣4
